Come move, connect and dance with us for a birthday edition!

It’s both Laura AND Amys birthdays this week, and we want to celebrate with you!

Before the dance, we’ll be sharing free drinking cacao to warm and open the heart and bring us deeper into the dance!

And as always… Ecstatic Dance is a free-form movement practice.
There are no steps to learn and no dance experience is necessary. Simply come as you are and move your body in whatever way feels good to you.

There is also ample space for prop spinning! We’ll have a few hula hoops, and feel free to bring your own fans, flags, hoops, staffs, etc

DETAILS:
Robson Hall
3067 Waldie Ave, Castlegar

Thursday, November 5th
Then every second Thursday
6:00–7:30 PM
(doors open at 5:45)

Suggested reciprocity:
$10 – Drop in or pre-register via email:
lauragflair@gmail.com

**If money is a barrier, please come anyway!
It is very important to us that this feels accessible to our community.

(We can also use some help with setup. If you’d like to volunteer a little time in exchange for your dance, please reach out.)

Family friendly!

Bring water, dress in layers, and just come enjoy!

THE JOURNEY

Our musical journey will be provided by Laura Flair, Ecstatic Dance Facilitator & DJ (this will not be a live DJ set, but is an intentionally curated music journey).

The journey begins slowly, gradually builds in energy, and then brings us back down to ground and integrate.

Expect a mix of electronic, world, organic, instrumentals, and other genres designed to invite different ways of moving and feeling in your body.

We’ll begin slowly, move into the dance journey, and close together in circle.

ECSTATIC DANCE AGREEMENTS:

  • No talking on the dance floor.

(You’re welcome to connect and socialize off to the side so we can honour each person’s dance journey. There will be time to connect after the dance if you choose)

  • This is a fully sober space. No alcohol or substances.
  • Family-friendly and all are welcome.
  • No dance experience necessary.

The community has been asking for Ecstatic Dance, and we’re excited to create a regular space to move and connect together. And it takes community to show up and connect to keep it going – we can only create this together!
